Old Mill identity

Challenge

West Country accountants and financial planners Old Mill were looking to refresh their identity and strengthen their core branding by dropping service line sub brands.

Solution

Working with Old Mill’s marketing team Cognique produced a range of logo concepts to stimulate discussion within the business. A small number of shortlisted identities went through further development and sample application before a decision was made. The selected identity was then adjusted further to meet with final approval.

Outcome

“Brand Identity is a complex subject – we have been evolving our brand on many fronts. A logo is part of this – but a very visible part! The problem is that so many logos are just fancy design efforts which may or may not fit the business. At Old Mill we had discussed what we were looking for and went to Cognique to visualise some of our ideas and to further develop them. It is that two-way working relationship which we feel leads to good results. We feel our evolved brand identity has a forward-looking feel to fit with the positive aspirations of our business.”
