The Bid Coach branding, stationery and website
Challenge
Hugh Graham was a partner in a successful consulting firm specialising in helping clients to win large project tenders. The partners decided to go their separate ways and resolve who was to have rights to the existing name and business. It was at this stage that Hugh approached Cognique about a website. During the course of a free consultation it became apparent that there would be real value to be gained in trading under a new name rather than the existing, contested one.
Solution
Cognique researched the client’s market, competitors, search engines and domain names before shortlisting three new name suggestions. From this process The Bid Coach was chosen. With the name selected a number of identity concepts were produced. One concept was taken further with changes to typography and colours before being approved.
With most of the business stationery being electronic, versions of the identity were created for use in Word and PowerPoint. Business cards were designed and printed by Cognique. Matt lamination and spot UV varnish were used to enhance the design and give the cards extra impact.
A content managed website was designed to build on the new identity and flesh out the proposition and reinforce credibility with a video introduction, free coaching tips, FAQs, and in due course, case studies.
Outcome
“I wanted to use a local firm to build my businesses new website since I also envisage using them in the future to produce other creative items, which not be practicable from any distance. During my initial meeting with Paul mooted the idea of developing a new name for the business, an idea that I was very pleased to pursue, although I hadn’t looked at this as a serious and viable option to that point.
Having provided the Cognique team with a brief on the market that I work in I left them to do their creative thing. The name The Bid Coach shone out like a beacon and this was further strengthened once they had produced some concept logo designs. The business cards that Cognique have designed and printed have been very positively received by those who have seen them and serve to reinforce the messages from the brand name and design.”
