Collier Reading Architects based in Glastonbury came to us with a problem: Their previous website wasn’t doing the job they wanted it to. The design wasn’t very appealing, engaging or exciting, and they didn’t even have a blog. Their current website wasn’t being found on Google as it wasn’t search engine optimised, and most importantly it didn’t have a content management system so they couldn’t update the website themselves. Also the existing site wasn’t optimised for viewing on mobile phones.
Visual impact was the key for Collier Reading Architects website
When people search for an architect and come across a website, they look at their previous projects to see if any are the sort of style they are after. Architects websites have to have instant visual impact, so we designed the site to have a full width project image slider on the homepage to give prospective clients immediate inspiration.
WordPress content management system
We built the new bespoke designed website on WordPress, giving the client their very own blog and allowing them to be able to update their entire site themselves whenever they wished. WordPress is one of the best and easiest to use CMS platforms available, with a vast range of plugins to enhance your website.
The website was designed to respond to the size of the browser window and has been designed to display well on modern smart phones and tablets as well as laptops and desktop computers. Finally we optimised the new website to be found for certain key words and phrases in search engines. This was done by some careful research into the certain key words that people commonly search for when looking for architects and also looking at the competition between them. So hopefully, they should now be getting found online and should be higher up the search engine rankings.
