New LED Architects website and identity

An imaginary fist pump was my inital reaction when I heard that we were going to be given the opportunity to design and build the new LED Architects website. Architects, as we all know, are designers. And as designers they are very visual. They like their work to tell the story with big, interesting and powerful project images – not the usual stock photography you find on every Tom, Dick and Harry's website. This is a web designer's dream, and I was chomping at the bit to get started on it. ...

Powerful new mobile optimised website for Powrmatic

Powrmatic, a leading UK manufacturer of commercial and industrial heating and ventilation equipment, approached Cognique having become frustrated with the limited functionality of their existing website built on a proprietary content management system. In addition it was not a mobile optimised website so didn't work particularly well on mobile devices or tablets. Working with Powrmatic's Marketing Manager, Adam Tovey, we identified the types of users and activities they would typically want t...

Responsive holiday lettings website for Lyme Coast Holidays

Already running a successful sales and letting agency, Richardson Gill, Malcolm Gill and Andrew Richardson were increasingly asked about holiday lettings, and so formed Lyme Coast Holidays Ltd in 2010. After trialling desktop solutions from providers of holiday cottage booking software they decided to go with Total Accommodation Booking System (TABS) and also engaged the software house to create a website which integrated with their desktop software. While the software more than met their ne...

New responsive website for Remous Print

Back in September last year, we were proud to announce the re-brand for Remous Print based in Sherborne, Dorset. Since then we have been working closely together to design and develop a new responsive website based on the new identity and brand. What is a responsive website? We hear this phrase used time and time again nowadays, and that is because it's an important factor when designing and developing a new website. A responsive website is a website that has the functionality to re-size and r...

New corporate website for Somerset business

Business owner Richard Shearwood-Porter utilised his experience in manufacturing and consultancy to set up new business venture Construction Certification. Antony Lovedale founded Active Robots over 10 years ago as a catalogue and online reseller of robot parts and accessories to hobbyists and enthusiasts. But a recent expansion into higher value robots for use in education, academic research and corporate applications meant that Antony needed to create a separate business to address the needs of this rapidly growing market. Following a recommendation from a business contact, Antony met with Cognique and discussed his requirements. We quickly came...

New Collier Reading Architects website

Collier Reading Architects based in Glastonbury came to us with a problem: Their previous website wasn't doing the job they wanted it to. The design wasn't very appealing, engaging or exciting, and they didn't even have a blog. Their current website wasn't being found on Google as it wasn't search engine optimised, and most importantly it didn't have a content management system so they couldn't update the website themselves. Also the existing site wasn't optimised for viewing on mobile phones....
